Morocco (spring 2006) - Write about a wonderful country including Medina, Souk, Riad, Medersa, Kasbah, Caravanserai and Hammam and detail the Atlas origin (Greek mythology), the Draa valley (Sahara desert), Marrakech or Ouarzazate may have been easier. Choice has been oriented on the Moroccan political aspect based on an United Nations report issued September 2002. The country under King Hassan II (who died in 1999) and his son King Mohammed VI has created a modern and pro-Western image, blending traditional Islamic culture with the needs a process referred as "adaptive modernisation". The king is both religious and secular leader ("the commander of the faithful") anchors political legitimacy in compromise, co-operation and consensus that rejects violent confrontation. Unlike its Arab neighbours, Morocco has created a worldwide perception of its relative advancement and social harmony that immunises it against the radicalism and Islamic extremism in other parts of the Arab-Muslim world.

Despite evidence of democratisation and political alternance, the Moroccan ruling class may promulgate a culture of corruption. Those who do not have the secondary and university education may need to succeed in a competitive global marketplace with an alternative - Exit or join the underground economy.

South Africa (winter 2006) - This quite special country has experienced a significantly different evolution from other african nations due to an important immigration from Europe reaching levels not experienced in other African communities. As a result, South Africa is a very racially diverse nation. It has the largest population of people of Coloured (i.e. mixed racial background), whites, and Indian communities in Africa. Black South Africans account for slightly less than 80% of the population.

Often referred to as "The Rainbow Nation", term coined by Archbishop Desmond Tutu and later adopted by then-President Nelson Mandela, South Africa is a country's newly-developing multicultural diversity in the wake of segregationist apartheid ideology. Besides the economical and political aspects, impossible to forget quoting also South Africa as "The Rainbow Nation" for nature.
